Handy woman :)

My hubby left for work today and will be gone for a fortnight so the clever gods of irony and mischief thought an hour and a half after I had driven him to the airport would be the perfect time for some nice men to deliver our newly ordered sofa! Only two weeks before we were told we’d get it! I love my new sofa, and of course it’s nice to get it before we were supposed to (we even got a complimentary cushion!) But having a five-months-old and being home all alone, it’s also a bit annoying to suddenly have 7 humongous packages in your living room.

But the reason I write this is because I put it together all by myself! I had a friend come help me lift one part onto another as that was absolutely impossible with only one set of arms. And the result:

Welcome!

I visited a friend today who just had a son; a beautiful baby boy weighing only a few grams more than my little boy weighed when he was born. It is insane to see how much my little boy has grown, and how little he once was! I know they grow up quickly and all that, but you can't really believe it until you see it yourself!
I had made her a card for the occasion. I made some weeks ago but still had a few finishing touches I needed to do today before handing it over.

I tried to make the card for a challenge on Sukkersøtt, but didn’t finish it in time. The challenge was to use three different stamps together. I’m pretty happy with the result as it was my very first attempt. The shoes are coloured with watercolour pencils.

A few detail shots:

Paper: Chatterbox ‘Statue plaid’, Bazzill
Ribbon: Basic grey and from ScrapShop
Flowers: White from Prima, roses from ScrapShop
Stamps: Baby shoes and text stamp from KortogGodt, Butterfly swirl from Autumn Leaves
Buckle: HobbyScrap
Journaling paper from MakingMemories

The World's Greatest

y hubby and I got married last summer, and in June celebrated, or actually, we have yet to properly celebrate, our one year anniversary. I don’t know how it works internationally, but in Norway the first anniversary is called a ‘paper anniversary’ (second is cotton, third is leather, fourth is flower/linen, list goes on). So I figured I had to make something with paper. The result:

Well, I don't think there's too much to say about it, except that I spent way more time on it that I should... here are a few detail shots as well:

Venezia

We were in Venice last year as part of our honeymoon. We got married in June and in July we went to Italy by car. We stayed in Lido di Jesolo, and as it is so close to Venice we had to spend a day there as well. My ‘Venice-curse’ struck again and I was ill and did not enjoy the city as much as I could have. It was my fourth time in Venice, and I’ve been ill every single time!

This layout was made for a lift-challenge in ScrapShop's forum. We were to lift Elisabeth LO, a gorgeous one made with her dog. I saw this as an opportunity to work on my honeymoon album. The photo was taken from some bridge and slightly edited by a friend of mine.
I’ve torn the edges of the photo a bit with a foot file, the light-coloured paper I’ve torn the edges off and then painted. The flowers are painted with crackle paint and then inked with ‘Tattered Rose’ distress ink. The masks are coloured with perfect pearls. Here is a complete list of what I’ve used:
Paper: ‘Rue – Old Fashioned’ by Dream Street
Papers Font: Unchanged Thoughts
Flowers: ’Base’-flowers from Nille, other flowers  from Prima, roses from ScrapShop
Teardrops from Fiskars/Cloud9 Design
Charm is from Imaginisce
Felt strip from Prima

Welcome :)

I finally have time to scrap again! After years of juggling work, uni, friends etc I now have no other obligations than raising a healthy baby boy. Being a mom is no less than a full-time job, but I do have a few hours every evening after I've put him to bed.
I’m not really that good at introducing myself, but please pop back some time and I’m sure you’ll find out more about me.
